SKILL DEVELOPMENT COURSES

The BSAC provides a wide range of Skill Development Courses for divers at varying levels of proficiency.

These courses aim to expand the range of activities open to divers, to introduce them to new subjects and to guide them to higher levels of competence in specialist areas.

Skill Development Courses are a self contained short courses, usually of 1 or 2 day duration. The skills taught are complementary to existing diver training and aim to enhance the overall safety of diving, develop diving and related skills and to enhance the diving experience.

The courses cover a wide spectrum of recreational diving, providing something for every diving interest.

Aylesbury Green Park Sub Aqua Club prides itself on providing regular skill development courses to its members.

A qualified Sports Diver can initially only dive to a depth of 20m, however this depth can be increased by a series of progressively deeper dives when accompanied by a qualified instructor, to a maximum depth of 35m.

A qualified Sports Diver can participate in decompression dives when accompanied by a suitably qualified and experienced diver . They can also accompany an Ocean Diver (though the maximum depth is limited to the Ocean Diver’s 20m).
